I created this piece during a time when I deeply felt how people hide behind masks. We play roles, adopt identities, and conceal our true selves beneath carefully crafted façades. But what remains when the mask fades away?

The textured surface reflects the erosion of identity, the slow passage of time stripping away the face. The mesh-covered eyes form a barrier—between the inner and outer world, between who we are and who we are expected to be. This work speaks of the quiet disappearance of the self, the dissolution of identity under the weight of societal expectations.

I poured into it a sense of emptiness, the longing to see beyond appearances, the fear of vanishing—and the deep desire to hold onto my true self.
