Inward Light I is a quiet, meditative work centred on stillness and inward attention. The face does not describe a particular emotion; it exists in a suspended state, somewhere between presence and withdrawal. Its restrained expression and pale, tactile surface invite a slower way of looking .. one in which silence, vulnerability and inner awareness gradually come forward.
The hand-built thread-like lines extend beyond the face like subtle currents of thought or memory, connecting the inner state to the surrounding space. Rather than telling a story, the work creates a space for pause - a moment in which what is usually hidden can simply be present.
